Beyond the Southern Lakes - the explorations of W.G. Grave

Edited By Crozier, Anita

Notes
In the late 1890s, W.G. Grave, a teacher at Waitaki Boys' High School, led his first expedition into the wild, unexplored country between Otago's great lakes and the western fiords. During the following two decades, he led expeditions that opened up new country and routes. This book is compiled by his eldest daughter, Anita Grave of Oamaru, from his lecture notes and diaries. Grave has been described as "the foremost of the second generation of explorers in the mountains of Western Otago".
