Summary: Emma Arlington knows that her parents are hiding a secret, and she's sure she knows what it is: she's adopted. Emma has never felt she belonged. Not in the small mountain community she lives in, not at school, and not at home. Thanks to an online group of similarly minded teens, she's gotten used to the idea of adoption. They chat all day and into the night, and Emma knows that when she meets the other members she'll have a new family; a place where she truly belongs. It turns out the people she's been sharing her soul with are actually kids she knows from school: Michael the bully, Fabian the weasel, and Tessie, the most boring girl in the world. When Michael overhears his dad on the phone, the friends are determined to discover what their parents are hiding - something they soon find is much more sinister than just adoption.
